Franco Albini, Italian 1905-1977

Franco Albini was an Italian architect, urban planner, and furniture designer from the 1930s to the 1960s. He studied at Milan’s famous Politecnico and apprenticed under famed architect-designer Gio Ponti. Albini was a major figure in the Rationalist Movement. He was highly celebrated for his work on important architectural projects in Italy such as the Rome Rinascente building and Milan subway stations.

Franca Helg, Italian 1920-1989 Franca Helg also graduated from Politecnico di Milano. She was active in both architectural planning and industrial design. She often collaborated with Franco Albini.
