The poet sofa designed by Finn Juhl in 1941 is upholstered in Mocha colored shearling and stands on sturdy oak legs. Juhl called this sofa model 57 and it was nicknamed the Poet sofa in 1959 after being featured in the Danish film The Poet and His Wife.
Finn Juhl was one of the leading figures in the Danish Design movement. He approached his work in the manner of a sculptor, seeking the beauty of the volume and shape, life and expressiveness; it was clear that to him, furniture could not be limited to function, but should also express an artistic sensibility.
In 2001, Onecollection was trusted with the exclusive rights to manufacture and relaunch Finn Juhl’s sculptural and iconic furniture by Hanne Wilhelm Hansen, Finn Juhl’s widow. Today the unique Finn Juhl collection consists of 40 classic masterpieces. All of which Onecollection manufactures with the utmost respect for their original heritage and strict demands for quality.
