Svend Aage Madsen

Svend Aage Madsen was a Danish designer known to have worked with a number of Danish manufacturers and cabinetmakers including H.P. and Sigurd Hansen K. Knudsen and Son and NB Mobelfabrik. Madsen's design work epitomised the Danish modern style. Although his designs were never mainstream he is most famous for his desks and favoured the warmth of teak, walnut and rosewood in his work. His design style featured minimal decorative detail and instead he concentrated on angles, slopes and arches to create easy flowing organic silhouettes.
