The LC1 chair is functional perfection. The reclining back provides continuous comfort and supports different positions. The seat, backrest and armrests are made of a self supporting ecru fabric with a natural leather trim and framed in chrome plated steel. This design from 1928 was a collaboration by Le Corbusier, Charlotte Perriand and Pierre Jeanneret and production by Cassina began in 2011.
As a spirited advocate of Modernism, Le Corbusier created pieces that expressed his ideas with great sophistication. Based on an in depth exploration of reclining chairs, Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand devised the LC4 as an expression of relaxation with a focus on the human figure.
Cassina was established in 1927 in the Northern region of Brianza, Italy, an area noted for its skilled artisans and woodworkers. Rooted in high quality Italian craftsmanship Cassina began acquiring licenses to reproduce some of the world’s most well renowned furniture designs. The incredible quality of materials leads to the most amazing expression of form and function celebrating new design as well as highlighting notable designs of the past.
