PK33 stool by Poul Kjaerholm for Fritz Hansen in optical white leather with detachable cushion and matt chromed spring steel base.
With a love for minimalism, Danish designer Poul Kjaerholm designed his pieces with an understated and elegant fashion, finding preference for steel, which he combined with materials such as leather, wicker, marble and wood. Kjaerholm's work has been described as modest in means but rich in expression, while he always considered function and comfort.
The PK33 stool is a three-legged stool epitomizing Poul Kjaerholsm use of assembly techniques, his exploration of materials and his simplification of structure into a type-form. The stool draws on construction techniques from the PK71 nesting tables and the PK80 daybed, but still has its own strong, unique expression
